Day 4 - HOW CAN I BE
A STRONG CHRISTIAN?

STRENGTHENING YOUR FAITH

In the same way that physical exercise is crucial for maintaining our physical health, spiritual practices serve as ‘workouts’ to keep us spiritually fit and to nurture enduring faith.

The following spiritual practices are essential for believers to grow in their relationship with God and to live out their faith authentically.

PRAYER

PRAYER - is like the heartbeat of our spiritual life, enabling us to communicate with God, express our needs, and align our hearts with His will. Regular prayer strengthens our connection with God and deepens our dependence on Him.

A simple prayer model you can try is the acronym ACTS:

ADORATION
Begin by praising and worshiping God for who He is— His attributes, character, and goodness. Adore Him for His love, faithfulness, and sovereignty.
CONFESSION
Acknowledge and confess your sins and shortcomings before God. Be honest and humble in admitting areas where you have fallen short or strayed from His will. Receive His forgiveness and cleansing.
THANKSGIVING
Express gratitude to God for His blessings, provision, and answered prayers. Thank Him for the gift of life, salvation, and the countless ways He shows His love and grace towards you.
SUPPLICATION
Bring your requests and needs before God in prayer. Pray for yourself, your loved ones, and others in your life. Lift up concerns, desires, and burdens, trusting God to hear and respond according to His will.
Remember that this is just a model of prayer, the key is beginning to develop a regular habit of communicating with God. Don’t worry about knowing what to say, just begin talking with God. You will be well on your way to developing a powerful prayer life.

BIBLE READING

BIBLE READING - involves studying and reflecting on the Word of God to understand its teachings and gain spiritual insight and guidance. The aim of this discipline is to help people prioritize listening to and hearing from God.

An easy way to begin this discipline is to join us in our S.O.A.P reading plan.

The pace is stead, but doable. One chapter a day, five days a week (we take Saturday and Sunday off to leave some “grace space” to catch up if we miss a day or two). We intentionally set up the reading plan to include excerpts from each of the different sections of the Bible.

S.O.A.P is an acronym and method of writing down what God is saying to you through God’s Word.

SCRIPTURE
As you read the chapter for the day, find a verse or two that are meaningful to you and write them down.
OBSERVATION
What is God pointing out in the verse(s) you found? What is God saying? What did you learn?
APPLICATION
How an you make the verse(s) personal? What is something you can do today to apply it to your life?
PRAYER
Write out a prayer to the Lord. Ask Him to help you with the application, to reveal more about the text, or to find ways to share what you are learning with others.
You can access the reading plan and get started today by going to tpcconline.com

The more you develop an intentional prayer life and purposeful study of God’s Word the more you will begin to realize that we are to exercise our faith by living out the principles of love, compassion, through service of others.

SERVING

SERVICE- is a way for Christians to express gratitude for the grace and love they have received from God. It’s a way of imitating Christ’s sacrificial love and embodying the values of humility, compassion, and selflessness.
