Job Title: Ministry Support Coordinator
FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Workdays/Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, Sunday – Thursday with occasional Saturday for responsibilities related to ministry events.
Reports To:  Pastor of Discipleship

MINISTRY PURPOSE: This job position provides administrative support for the Ministries arm of our organization, working directly with the Pastor of Discipleship to determine the distribution of time, energy, and support for ministries with a priority focus on discipleship.

  • High level of administrative skill to create and maintain systems and processes for shepherding people and maintaining necessary data. Need a good working knowledge of TPCC's database.

  • Understand the flows in the mission, values, vision, and rhythms of Turning Point ministries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the Mobilization of People through Table Nights.

    • Support the Pastor of Discipleship in carrying out Table Nights
    • Support as directed the Table Nights events and processes.
    • Communicate with registrants making sure we have all the details communicated for the Table Nights.
    • Conduct follow-up with participants after each station on the Table Nights processing and receiving information, answering questions, guiding assessments, etc.

 

Event Coordination Support

  • Assist the Pastor of Discipleship in the execution of events related to the ministry.
    • Table Nights
    • Community Groups

 

Admin Support for Ministries

    •  
    • Upon the direction of the Pastor of Discipleship, provide administrative support for leaders within the Ministries arm.
    • Assist with scheduling of appointments to designated staff.
    • Book travel and scheduling for offsite events as directed.
    • Maintain, reconcile, and retrieve reports from ministries.
    • Lead in the processing of TPCC volunteer applications into the church-wide database.
    • Coordinate the volunteer application process and appropriate background checks with each ministry leader, under the direction of the Pastor of Discipleship.
    • Process electronic and hardcopy volunteer applications and update the church database for movement through volunteer recruitment process queues.
    • Develop a digital catalog of volunteer opportunities and job descriptions.
    • Ensure the accuracy and upload of all information relating to Ministries and events on the calendar, website, and communication systems, as directed.
    • Provide accurate and timely maintenance of the database for all information and registration details for Ministries and events.
    • Make routine assessments of the overall effectiveness of Ministries and conduct continuous research to discover improvement possibilities.

Streets to Seats

    • Upon the direction of the Pastor of Discipleship, provide administrative support for leaders within the Ministries arm.
    • Administrative support regarding volunteer schedules etc. as directed.
    • Assist in maintaining the café/coffee area as well as stocking and ensuring the church is Sunday ready to hospitably receive the congregants.
    • Stock volunteer spaces including the HUB volunteer lounge area.
    • Make routine assessments of the overall effectiveness of Ministries and conduct continuous research to discover improvement possibilities.

Miscellaneous

    • Other related duties as assigned by the Pastor of Discipleship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High School Degree required; some college acceptable; college degree preferred

Experience:  One to five years of administration support, preferably in ministry.

Skills:  Exceptional ability to facilitate the process and carry out of discipleship.  

Physical Requirements:  Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping.  Mobility to move from one office area to another within the Church campus and to off-campus locations.  Light lifting and carrying may be required.  Ability to reach above shoulders, extend arms, and reach.  Manual dexterity sufficient to type, operate general office equipment, and file.  Specific visual acuities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
