Mission in motion... Our Moonshot

Turning Point's mission is an unchanging, never ending endeavor. We are seeking to make disciples of men and women from every generation. And as we continue that quest, we have set our sights on creating a specific and bold application of the life change mission…OUR MOONSHOT represents a strategic disciple-making bullseye of leading 1,000 men to experience lasting life change during this decade.

In the Bible, a moonshot is a “firstfruit.” Proverbs 3:9 declares: “Honor the LORD with your…firstfruits of all your produce.” Giving God the first portion of a harvest became a focused measure of trust and positioned the giver to receive additional blessing from the rest of the yield that followed. “Then He will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Proverbs 3:10). The principle behind a firstfruit focus is to dedicate an initial portion to God that represents more to come. As it says in Romans 11:16 “If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump…”

Our firstfruit, our moonshot, is a way of dedicating our initial effort of our life change mission.  We believe this strategic focus will jump start our mission and bring blessing on all other energies toward life change.  Our goal of leading 1,000 men to experience lasting life change does not mean that we are not interested in reaching women, students, children, etc.  Far from it.  Everyone matters!  But we believe a changed man will influence change in the home, in community, in church, and nation.  Indeed, a changed man will help change the world.

To accomplish our Moonshot, we will rely on our core strategy — our discipleship pathway to see 1,000 men planted, rooted, built up and reproducing their bold faith.
